FERST Eye Institute sets the standard for excellence in health care in general and in ophthalmic care in particular. We support a culture of understanding where the patient is placed front and center in the generation of our treatment plan in order to influence them by increasing their knowledge of the medical condition thereby facilitating participation in the treatment.
Vanessa Fiorelli MD
Dr. Vanessa Fiorelli, MD
During her career, Dr. Fiorelli is a physician trained at the University of Sao Francisco (Brazil). She obtained Ophthalmology specialization at Santa Casa of Sao Paulo Medical College (Brazil), where she also completed a fellowship in External Diseases and Cornea. After her fellowship she continued at Santa Casa of Sao Paulo participating as a Volunteer Professor. Along her career, Dr Fiorelli revealed great interest in medical research. In 2007, she received The Troutman Veronneau Prize (Pan-American Association of Ophthalmology Award) which resulted in a research fellowship in Ocular Immunology and Uveitis at Massachusetts Eye Research and Surgery Institution (Cambridge- MA).
Dr. Fiorelli is the Director of clinical research at The FERST Eye Institute, and responsible for general medical administration.
Allen T. Jackson MD, MPH
Dr. Allen T. Jackson MD, MPH
Dr. Jackson has trained at premier institutions including Rush in Chicago, Catholic Medical Center – Cornell and Albert Einstein in New York City, Harvard in Boston, and Ochsner Clinic in New Orleans, having obtained specialized training in the promotion of health and the prevention of disease, along with fellowship training in Vitreous and Retina surgery, and Ocular Immunology and Uveitis.
Statement of Operation
We believe that the patient is our partner not only in actively taking care of eye problems they may have, but also in actively promoting their health and preventing disease.
